If a fish jumps out of the bowl and dies, is it suicidal, stupid or curious? How much grieving time does the death of a fish require? A couple seconds? A moment of silence during the flush?

Back to the original question. I think it's possible that the fish could be tired of the same old scenery so either it jumps out of the bowl for a fresh view or just to end it all. On the other hand it just could be really stupid. How much information can you fit in that little brain. It must be full with all the important stuff like breathing and how to mate. That doesn't leave much room for things like reasoning.
