A-listers only exist because we say so.

If we ignore them they would just go away. They could be a mere memory of the decaying Internet, but that won't happen. I don't have a problem with someone being on the list if it's for the right reasons. My problem is when people give too much credit to them. Some are famous because they did something first, but how long can someone retain star status for being first. They never seem to fall from glory.

Someone else is going to come along and do what they did better, but because first is idolized the new will never get their moment in the spotlight. Instead others will dance in circles kissing the A-listers asses until they are overwhelmed, good if your an A-lister bad if your not. (I have specific example I want to refer too, but I think it would spark some sort of flame war, so I'll just keep my mouth shut)
